In addition to books and multi-media, the Library has devoted itself to enriching its collection of materials in all formats and subject areas to support the teaching, learning and research needs of the growing HSMC community. During 2012-2013, the main focus has been the development of its digital collections. As a result, the number of e-books, e-journals and databases has grown significantly.

  • Databases
The databases provide a wide range of content from full-text journals and e-books to statistical and news data. A full list of databases can be found at Databases A-Z by alphabetical order or by Subjects or by Formats.
  • E-Journals
Recognizing the importance of quality journals for academic research, teaching and learning, the Library also made significant subscriptions of e-journals. New titles as well as backfiles of core journals were added to enrich the Library’s holdings. Major e-journals were subscribed from well-known international publishers. They can be browsed from the E-Journals A-Z.
  • E-Books
Growing in popularity due to its convenience, e-books are replacing the demand for print books in many subject areas. In view of this trend, the Library has made large acquisitions in this area. A few notable collections of e-books have been acquired from major publisher and vendors, bringing the total number of e-books to over 160,000 titles for access.

Most e-resources can be found by searching Searchplus. However some e-resources are best searched directly from the collection or platform themselves. Examples are as below:

E-Book collections such as Airiti Books, Books 24×7 and EBSCOhost eBook Collection

E-Journals such as Airiti Library, SSRN
